About me 

Hello, I’m Malar (Pronounced like Mala), and I’d love to share how I turned a passion for baking into a career I absolutely love as it gives me the freedom to be my own boss.

Born and raised in London, I was always surrounded by gorgeous cakes, and my sweet tooth inspired me to start baking and experimenting with recipes from a very young age. I worked in finance for 12 years before moving to Zürich for love.

​

In 2015, I opened my very own English tea room in Zürich, serving freshly baked cupcakes, afternoon tea, and bespoke cakes for a variety of celebrations. The tea room was a  success until building renovations required its closure, which coincided perfectly with the arrival of my first child. I continued my business from my hobby room at home until the birth of my second child in 2024, that’s when I realised my business had grown to a level that required its own professional space.

In the summer of 2025, I moved into my studio in Zumikon and installed a fully equipped professional kitchen. This dedicated space allows me to craft bespoke cakes and cupcakes, host children’s cupcakes decorating parties, adult workshops, run one-to-one classes, and share my passion for baking with others.

Every creation is baked and handcrafted, with creativity, quality, and attention to detail. I can’t wait to welcome you and help make your celebrations or your baking journey truly special.
