My name is Malar and I'm going to tell you a little bit about how baking became more than just a hobby, it’s become my job, which I absolutely love!

Being born and raised in London I was always surrounded by gorgeous cakes and freshly brewed cups of tea. I can still remember my first afternoon tea experience, the assortment of delicious treats and yummy tea, it was amazing and I have lost count of how many afternoon teas I have experienced now but I can tell you, that each one has been truly memorable. 
 

Having a sweet tooth encouraged me to start baking myself. I loved experimenting with recipes and trying new buttercream techniques but most of all, I loved sharing what I had made with my family and friends. 

While working in finance in London, I entered into a number of charity baking events! With each bake I grew in confidence whilst improving my skills and perfecting my recipes...but little did I know, my life was about to change. 

After a whirlwind romance like the types you read about in fairytales, I moved to Zürich to be with my husband! One day whilst I was exploring the city I stumbled across this cute little shop. I was looking through the window imagining it as a tea room, like the ones I missed so much from home. By chance, I had a conversation with the owner, which turned into the most incredible opportunity, he was in the process of finding someone to rent the beautiful shop so I jumped at the chance and decided to make my dream a reality.

In 2015 I opened my very cute little English tea room. I served freshly baked cupcakes, delicious afternoon tea and made bespoke cakes for a variety of events and celebrations. 

The shop ran successfully for an amazing 3.5 years, however it had to come to an end due to renovation work on the building, but to my luck it was perfect timing as I found out I was baking my own little cupcake. I ran the shop until the end of March 2019 and gave birth to my beautiful daughter 3 weeks later. 

Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed having some time off to spend with my bundle of joy, it is now time for me to get back to my creative world of baking I made a decision to change my business from storefront to online where I will continue to create delicious treats to order.
